December-2007- I originally had thought that I would just write down a little history about myself, but as I went along I found it was only natural to be biased when telling my side of the story. I could be able to be much more implicit about how I felt about the certain incidents that came my way and I was directly involved in, if I took myself back to that very moment when the various going ons, and ups and downs occurred.
We all know the answers and what to do about problems that come our way when we have had a big dose of “after-thought”. It was only while I started writing this narrative that I realised that I reacted to different circumstances in fact in a simular manner, and they were one of the same. Strangers and even members of a same family, quite often miss what is the essence of the true facts and what is actually “ticking over” in little minds. A child’s own little world also can appear quite large to them.
One day there was a heavy storm at my brother’s place. His home is just 3 miles from “Warrinah” As the rain pelted down on the iron roof; my brother’s daughter looked out of the window. “Is it raining over at Grandma’s?” The disgusted retort from another sibling. “Of course it is! It is raining every where. Dear you say some silly things Bronwyn.”
I remember when young, sitting around the table in the old kitchen at home. The older members of the family were talking about Dad and certain failings of his. What was being spoken was probably just spoken in perhaps in fun and had no bitterness in it. I listened to the conversation for a while and was keen to be part of the discussion so I said, “And he says this, and he does that………” Mother very abruptly put a stop to any further conversation by saying “That is enough!”
I have described some events that I remember so well, in detail, but on the whole have left it up to the reader to make their own assumptions.
During the course of writing this, I have included some health hints, comments on early childhood intervention, children water safety issues, firearm control, bullying involvement in the school playground environment, sexual harassment in the classroom, OH&S in the work place, the end result of illegal business enterprises, and of course a bit of actual history that was made during my watch.
If you are referred to briefly at any time in my story you may feel embarrassed. Please don’t be. This somewhat brief account is intended on the whole to be humorous as well as informative. Sixty Years
